Published: 5 January 2023

Hon. Milicent Carboo, the DCE of Biakoye District convened a meeting with Pastors and Leaders of churches in the Nkonya area.

The purpose of the meeting was to thank God for a successful year, 2022, commit the new year 2023 into the hands of the Almighty and to share ideas on development issues in the District.

The DCE in her remark showed appreciation to the men of God for honouring her invitation and entreated them to share ideas towards the progress of the District.

They in turn praised the DCE for her dedication, good leadership and development in the District.

During the deliberations, concerns on development issues emerged. Among such issues were:

1. Completion of 6unit SDA school block at Nchumuru;

2. Extention of electricity to Biakoye Community School;

3. Construction of Kpodzi-Kpeme Road;

4. Fixing of streetlights on Kpodzi road;

5. Support to teachers who accept postings to the remote areas of the District.

Hon. DCE also shared concern on the completion of the Assembly office complex. She further stated that the contract is yet to be re-awarded and that a successful completion will provide enough office space for staff to effectively and efficiently deliver their mandates.

Hon. Carboo also disclosed the plans to cultivate rice on a large quantity in the District. A project (which is been championed by the Ministry of Agric) when implemented will feed Biakoye and beyond and also provide employment to the teaming youths of the District.

The men of God who were in attendance include Pastor Festus Joseph Sarpong of Full Armour Church, Pastor Tawiah Stephen of SDA, Pastor Paul Adom of Church of Christ, Pastor Joseph Manu of Christ Peaceful Church, Pastor Benjamin E. Baidoo of Church of Pentecost and Pastor Samuel Folikumah of E. P Church. Representing the Presiding Member was Dickson Adom
